Why I Chose the Dragonfly for the Soul Awakening Logo

At Soul Awakening, the healing space I facilitate is one of profound transformation, not just for humans, but for our beloved animal companions as well. It’s a space where we can release trauma from this life, past lives, and ancestral wounds—healing limiting beliefs, thoughts, and emotions that are held deep within the body and spirit. This healing process goes beyond simply relieving symptoms; it's about uncovering your innate ability to heal and evolve, to let go of the energetic weight that no longer serves you, and to access the wisdom you carry within.
The dragonfly was an obvious choice for my logo because its life cycle beautifully mirrors the transformational process we go through in our work together. Here's why:
The Depth of Transformation: From Water, to Land, to Air
The dragonfly’s metamorphosis is a perfect metaphor for the deep and multifaceted healing we experience. The dragonfly begins its life underwater, in the form of a nymph, hidden beneath the surface, out of sight from the world above. This stage represents the emotional depths of our own healing journey—our hidden traumas, ancestral wounds, and limiting beliefs that have been submerged and stored in the body’s cells and organs. Much like the dragonfly nymph, we often don't recognise or understand the sources of our emotional burdens.
But transformation doesn’t stop there.
As the dragonfly nymph begins its emergence, it leaves the water, climbs onto land, and sheds its old skin to become something new. This is symbolic of the shift we undergo as we begin to release the old energies and emotions, shedding the layers of trauma and limiting beliefs that no longer serve us. We step onto new ground, often uncertain but ready for change—no longer trapped in the past but stepping into our new potential.
Then, the dragonfly takes to the air, gracefully flying with remarkable agility and lightness. This final stage represents the freedom that comes with true healing. Once we've cleared the old, the weight is lifted, and we can soar with newfound clarity and purpose, unburdened by the past and fully present in the now. This transformation is not linear; it’s a continuous cycle of release and growth, like the dragonfly’s flight—ever evolving, ever shifting, and always moving forward.
Emotional Clarity & Releasing Stored Trauma
Just as the dragonfly hovers near water, its wings reflecting the light, its movements are precise and clear. This clarity is a powerful symbol for the emotional clarity that emerges when we release deeply held trauma. By accessing the healing space together, we can move through the layers of stored emotions and uncover the truth beneath, healing not just the surface symptoms but addressing the root causes.
The dragonfly’s ability to move between water, land, and air reflects our ability to work across different levels of being—mind, body, and spirit—healing across multiple dimensions. As we release old emotions stored in our cells and organs, the body responds by releasing the energy that no longer serves us, clearing pathways for deeper emotional healing.
Mirroring Between Humans and Animals
In my work, I often see animals act as mirrors for their human companions. They reflect emotions, patterns, and blockages that may not be immediately obvious. Just like the dragonfly’s ability to reflect light on the surface of water, animals mirror our inner state, helping us identify areas of growth. These powerful companions teach us, often without words, what is ready to be healed in ourselves. Together, we address those hidden wounds, evolving alongside each other as we release what no longer serves.
Empowerment from Within
The dragonfly represents agility, freedom, and lightness of being. It reminds us that the power to heal, evolve, and transform is already within us. In my work, I provide a space for you to access this inner wisdom and strength, guiding you as you let go of what holds you back and step into a new, empowered version of yourself—and a new, empowered relationship with your animal companions.
Through healing, we reclaim the ability to soar, like the dragonfly, light and unburdened, with the clarity of our purpose and the freedom of being fully present in our truth.
The dragonfly isn't just an image; it's a guide to the deeper process we undergo together in healing. It embodies the depth of change, the cyclical nature of transformation, and the clarity and freedom that emerge from releasing what no longer serves us. Together, we heal, evolve, and soar—individually and with our animal companions.
